What is Fraud

Fraud is defined as an act committed by a person, whether individually or in collusion with others, either as a principal actor or by assisting or conspiring with others, involving a violation of any applicable laws, regulations, or job-related rules. For instance, the exploitation of their job position or assigned duties with the intent to obtain an unlawful benefit for themselves or others, regardless of whether the benefit is ultimately realised.

Who should report?

All stakeholders including employees, suppliers and service providers etc.

Mechanism for Reporting Financial and Administrative Corruption Violations — Misappropriation of Funds and Assets of Subject Entities

The whistleblower submits the report to one of the following entities:

• Whistleblowing Email: Reporting can be made by sending an email to the agency’s whistleblowing system at (whistleblowing@space.gov.ae)
• Internal Audit Office: You can reach out to the Internal Audit Office directly by personally visiting the Internal Audit Office in Abu Dhabi.
• UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA): Reporting could also be done through the Wajib platform.

Anonymity and Confidentiality

• You have the option to keep your information confidential for anonymity purposes.
• Your details will be considered highly confidential as permitted by law.

Examples of Violationsy

• Misappropriation of funds and assets belonging to the subject entities
• Breach of the rules and provisions governing contracts and agreements
• Embezzlement of funds belonging to the subject entities or fraudulently seizing them
• Violation of applicable financial rules, regulations, and systems
• Abuse of authority for the purpose of obtaining benefits for oneself or others
• Appropriation of state funds or facilitating their misappropriation

What to avoid when Reporting

• Concerns related to employment or staff treatment
• Consumer complaints
• False accusations
• Professional disagreements
