UAE Space Agency Hosts Brainstorming Session For Employees

30 May 2016

The UAE Space Agency held a brainstorming session led by H.E. Dr. Eng. Mohammed Nasser Al Ahbabi, Director General of the Space Agency, at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Employees from a number of departments and sections participated in the session, where they shared perspectives on the initiatives and plans that will guide the agency throughout the coming years.

The session discussed the agency’s strategic direction from 2017 to 2021 in terms of vision, messaging, and aims. The heads and directors of the Agency’s departments also reviewed the initiatives that will be implemented within this time period.

The session also involved the presentation of opinions and creative suggestions on the working mechanisms of the Space Agency, and ways in which current initiatives can be developed in order to progress to higher levels and achieve their targets.

H.E. Dr. Al Ahbabi said that exploring the creative ideas of the Agency’s employees was the primary goal of the session. This is particularly important due to the fact that the agency employs a wide range of specialists with expertise in a variety of fields, such as astronomy and astrophysics, as well as experts in administrative, institutional, and educational disciplines.

Dr Al Ahbabi highlighted that the session aimed to include employees from every department of the Agency in the decision-making process, ensuring that great ideas are translated into tangible initiatives. The brainstorming session embodies one of the most important qualities and characteristics of the space industry—close cooperation between the different parties involved, with everyone working together towards a single goal that is greater than the sum of its parts.

It is noteworthy that brainstorming sessions are to be organised within the agency on a regular basis due to the overwhelming success of this session.
