His Excellency Major General Dr. Mubarak Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri was appointed Assistant Undersecretary for Support and Defence Industries within the Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates in March 2020.
He leads the Ministry’s engagement with defence industries and research and development organizations to support the generation and delivery of military capability. He also spearheads the Armed Forces’ contribution to developing the defence industry ecosystem of the United Arab Emirates, accelerating innovation to ensure military capabilities benefit from the latest technological advancements. He is responsible for the procurement of equipment, goods, supplies, and services, including equipment and support, as well as for providing fit-for-purpose, safe, and robust facilities, and infrastructure services for the UAE Armed Forces.
Major General Dr. Mubarak is a recognized senior leader in UAE national defence with extensive high-level defence strategy, management, planning, international, operational, and command experience. His distinguished military career spans more than 30 years, during which he has served in numerous strategic and operational leadership roles both domestically and internationally.
Over the past years, he has been entrusted by UAE leadership with a comprehensive modernization program for the continuous improvement of the UAE Armed Forces. This program drove change across the Armed Forces, establishing an integrated and modernized defence that delivers greater military capability. It also established and launched the UAE Joint Operations Command.
